- Jennifer LaMountain Concert
Christian recording artist, Jennifer LaMountain, will be appearing at Kernersville! Since 1993, Jennifer has been a featured artist on radio, television, and appears on religious programs in the United States, Canada, and worldwide. She has sung from many of the major halls and stages in the world to countless churches and special events. _______________________________________ Thousands worldwide have witnessed the grace and passion of Jennifer’s ministry. The beauty and energy of her music is contagious. She bubbles over with enthusiasm. “Our God is so amazing,” she says, “and with a Friend so precious – how can I keep from singing?” From her first church solo at age three, to her roles in opera, to regular appearances on religious television and worldwide satellite programming, Jennifer continues to inspire listeners. The concert will feature songs from Jennifer’s album, “Confessions: Hymns and Songs of Faith”. Richly set within full orchestral arrangements, these hymns of the past and songs of today come alive. The melodies and timeless lyrics give us the opportunity, once again, to experience the faithfulness of God and the hope our trust in Him affords She counts it a privilege to be an artist representative for World Vision and will be speaking on the behalf of children’s rights and basic needs. The Kernersville Seventh-day Adventist Church is proud to present this concert as a free gift to the community. Please join us for this inspirational evening of music and testimony! This concert will be in-person ONLY. _______________________________________
- Cooking Class
Join Registered Dietician, Laura Jobe, to learn about healthy and unhealthy fats! This month we are focusing on Fats that Heal, and Fats that Kill. We will be demonstrating recipes without using cooking oils. Registered Dietician, Laura Jobe, will be discussing types of fat and how they impact our health. This cooking class is open to both church members and non-members, young and old, and anyone who is serious, interested, or at least curious about ways to improve health and endurance by means of “Forks over Knives”. We come from a scientific, as well as a Biblical point of view. Science proves today that the instruction God gave people in the beginning--to eat a whole foods plant-based diet (see Genesis 1:29)--is still the best means to prevent and reverse disease. What?, How?, and When? we eat makes a difference to us and the next generation. Favorite resources come from the NEWSTART Club, Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn, Dr. Joel Fuhrman, Dr. T. Colin Campbell, Dr. John McDougall, and Hallelujah Acres. We avoid excitotoxins (see Dr. Russell Blaylock). Due to prevalent food sensitivities in people who usually attend the class, we mostly prepare gluten-free recipes, or at least wheat free; peanut free options as well. At the end of the demos, we taste what we make. Date: January 15th Time: 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. Location: Kernersville SDA Church (Directions) Suggested Donation: $10-15
